Ceramic nativity scene, 'Highlands Christmas'

Portrayed as a couple from the Peruvian highlands, Mary and Joseph wear traditional Andean dress. The young parents seem serious as they consider the responsibilities of their newborn son. With a faraway look, Joseph holds a shepherd's crook and a lamb rests beside him; it contemplates little Jesus in a straw-filled manger.
